Lehrinhalte/Gliederung

The course imparts fundamental knowledge of scientific principles (physical and chemical) for regenerative energy conversion and storage technologies.
Basic principles in physics and chemistry including thermodynamics, kinetics and electrochemistry are taught. The students are introduced to current topics and problems of energy conversion and storage technologies.

The course is taught by a mix of lectures with integrated exercises and seminars, at which current topics on practical examples and selected case studies are critically discussed.

Qualifikationsziele

By the end of this course, the students should be able to:

  • Assess technologies related to energy conversion and storage processes
  • Critically assess and evaluated fundamental limitations of these technologies
  • Understand and name challenges and chances related to these technologies
  • Develop and evaluate concepts for energy conversion and storage technologies in terms of an effective and sustainable energy supply
